- S fits an 11 in (28 cm) head, roughly 2 to 8 lb.
- M fits 13.8 in (35 cm), roughly 8 to 16 lb.
- L fits 16.5 in (42 cm), roughly 16 to 50 lb.
Measure around the widest part of the head, just above the ears.
Head circumference picks the size, not the breed on the chart. Between two sizes, take the larger one.

Five minutes indoors with a treat, then out for a short walk. Dogs accept a hat far faster this way than when the first wear happens on the street.
Off for water and rough play. It is a sun hat, not a swim hat, and the chin cord is not a leash point.

Hand wash cold, reshape the brim while damp, air dry flat. Do not tumble dry.

It washes by hand and dries flat, the way a hat you actually wear is supposed to.
Get the size right first time
Run a soft tape around the widest part of the head, just above the ears, and read the number off the chart. Weight is a sanity check, not the measurement.
Between two sizes, take the larger one. The chin cord takes up the slack. A hat that is too small has nowhere to go.

Most do, after two or three short sessions indoors. The ear openings stop the hat twisting and the chin cord stops it sliding back, which is what normally makes a dog shake a hat off.
Start with five minutes and a treat, then take it outside.

Both. The brim is wide enough to shade the eyes, the nose and the top of the head, which is where short coated and light coated dogs feel the sun first on a midday walk.
It is sun cover, not rated sun protection clothing.

Yes. The openings sit in the crown, so upright ears come through the top and floppy ears rest under the brim. Both fit.

Light rain is fine. Wipe it down and let it air dry.
Take it off for swimming and for the beach shake. Hand wash cold, reshape the brim while damp, never tumble dry.
